Hi All
I've tried to install a few different versions of Tom Tom on to my N73s memory card, The first one I tried worked a bit then went belly up, so I uninstalled and re-installed it, and that seemed to install ok but when I try to start it up, it gets stuck on the white splash screen with the rotating globe and Goes no further.
Since then I have tried a few different copies of Tom Tom from verious sources and always end up with the same fault, stuck on the splash screen.
The last version I tried, is a version I know a freind is running with no problems on an n73, so what's my problem?
I'm wondering if the first instalation has screwed up some sort of registry (if a phone has such a thing) setting or somthing like that, and this is effecting all susquent instalations!
Any sugestions as to what my problem is, or better still has anyone else seen this fault.
Cheers
n73
Firmware
v3.0638.0.0.1
30-10-2006
RM-133
Nokia N73 (39.01)
2gig memory card
TomTom.Mobile.v6.02.sis
Now I'm completly stumped, I formatted my memory card and updated my firmware to 4.somthing whatever the latest is and reinstalled TomTom with exactly the same results.
I tried installing to the memory card and the phones memory too
really pulling my hair out!
Edit: I Should add that I currently have no GPS module connected, but I assume thats not an issue???

Hmmmm
Have you tried contacting TomTom customer support ?
Or do TomTom support illegally cracked copies of their software ?
I know I'll get slated for "jumping to conclusions", but it's the perennial question of "How do I get my cracked copy of "Brand X Software" working". Same modus operandi everytime.
If it's genuine, TomTom will resolve the issue for you.
If you're gonna steal software, at least have the common sense not to blatantly flaunt the fact on a forum whose rules explicitly state that you should do no such thing.
It's like stealing the crown jewels and going to Buckingham Palace to ask the Queen to make them fit.
Hy Guys am new to the world of GPS, does N73 has his own GPS or I have to buy an External Gps reciever to get it working??

You will need to buy an external GPS receiver. The BT-77 variety (widely available on eBay at very good prices) is a good starting point. I recently upgraded to a Holox BT441 which has 44 channel, A-GPS and vibration sensors for instant start up. Do a search on this board for GPS and you will find numerous threads on the subject.
The only Nokia's to currently feature built in GPS are the N95 and 6110 Navigator. However, I am sure that more will follow.
