Use phone as 3G modem for PC

Is there any way to do this, either with Bluetooth or a USB cable?

If so, please give detailed instructions, as I can't seem to get it working!

Thanks very much,

😊 Adam

What's the problem exactly? I find this really very easy. My 6120 came with a USB cable in the box, I downloaded the latest version of PC Suite from Nokia's website, overwriting my old installation. After upgrading it, I simply plugged in the phone and selected "PC Suite" mode on the popup that appears on the phone every time you plug in the USB. Then I ran PC suite, selected the get connected button and it followed through, took a couple of minutes to recognise and install the drivers for the phone. That's phone to PC connected

To then connect to the net I simply clicked "Connect To the internet" in PC Suite. The connect program opens and counts down to connection in 10 secs, so I stopped it, clicked settings and went through the wizard to select my network (T-Mobile UK), followed through, clicked Connect again back on the main screen, and hey presto!

I will say though that Web'n'Walk sometimes take a minute or two or longer to actually establish a proper connection, so you can think it's failed. This does not seem to be a signal strength issue, quite frankly T-Mob's gateway etc are not really good enough. Even worse is their DNS which can take ages. Whether you're with T-Mob or not, I recommend switching your DNS for your phone connection to the opendns.com ones, MUCH better. You do this on your PC to improve the laptop connection through the phone, and on the phone to improve the web on your phone. If you want to know how to do either/both of these email me at ajck-1234 (at) usa.net and I'll respond in this forum.

Cheers

The problem is that I foolishly missed that option in PC Suite completely! I had naively assumed that I would need to manually create a Windows network connection somehow.

Thank you very much!!
