Playing music on the P800

I wanted to use the P800 as am mp3 player, and given the 16MB duo, i was desperate enough to encode a MP3 format album to another MP3 format with the lowest bitrate available. the P800 plays it, but sound quiality is very flat. i would like to know if there is a player available to play WMA format on the P800?

Alos, what would i need if i wanted to stream MP3 music from internet radio stations? i already have my WAP/GPRS settings.

Cheers!

I dont think its any idea to try compressing too much

The earphone and sound is superb! 😃

Maybe Sony did some there :-?

Better wait a couple weeks and then get the 128

Hope the price is nice, then 2 x 128? :P

will this phone take std. MP3 files, or is Sony making people encrypt it in their proprietary format?

Luckly the P800 seems to be low on CPU clock cycles to perform decrypting + decoding of music otherwise Sony no doubt would have forced ATRAC down our throats.
No, P800 does not even support the Sony MagicGate cards without reformating them as non MagicGate cards.
