Came out of uni the other day and turned my phone on, only to see the blue nokia logo on the white background upside down :con?
I could hear the wee jingle that plays but i couldnt see anything then it cut to like a snowy screen (like what you get on the TV sometimes) then went black again.
Strange thing was: I could still use the phone, i can recieve calls, make calls (if i remember the number off by heart) but i cant see whos calling me or....well i cant see anything. Its just a black screen but i can still use it kinda.
:con?
Has this happened to anyone else?
Afraid not, but your best plan of action is probably:
1. Sync it and back it up, if possible
2. Perform a hard reset (this will delete all phone data); the easiest way in your case is probably to power the phone off, and hold down green+3+* all at the same time while you power it on
3. See if that fixes it; if it does then you could try restoring the backup but it might make it come back, so maybe just best to re-sync it. If it doesn't, it's hardware.
My bets are on hardware though. You'd have to take it to your network (if not SIM-free) or Nokia if so.
I had the same issue two weeks back, but nothing I could do to fix it. Took it to Nokia care and they fixed the problem.
It said on the repair reciept: Fixed LCD connector...
So it's connection problem apparently and nothing like hard reset or software update should help.

Nah, I didn't think so.. doing a hard reset was the 'waving a dead chicken' action really.
its def connection problem. i dropped my phone last week and had the same thing. opened it up, disconnected the screen and reconnected it again and have had no problems since! not sure id recommend doing it yourself unless you know what your doing. not sure if it invalidates warranty either??
take it back. easy fixed
Cheers for everyones help
I phoned up Orange a few hours ago and they took my details etc and basically said they would send one out free of charge as a replacement tomorrow night. Which was perfect because i need it for Tuesday night
