Well, after a long while having to use a Sony (pah) Java application to utilise Sky's Remote Record features, they have at last seen fit to release a native Symbian 3rd Edition version.
Type the following URL into your phone's web browser and download the app, which will automatically install.
http://mobile.sky.com/skyapp/skyapp.asp
The page will auto detect your phone and install the correct version.
My personal opinion of this application is that it is a vast improvement over the Java version and better than the old S60 2nd Edition that I used to use on my 6680.
It took a while to get there, but here it is 😊
All the best,
Rob.
I'm told my phone (an N73 of course) is not supported.
Do you have to be on specific network?
Not to my knowledge. I frequently got the "Phone is not supported message" until last month, when Sky finally released this native S60 3rd Edition and using the Web browser in my N73, it picks it up just fine.
You also have to be registered with Sky to use this. Full Instructions can be found on your My Sky page at sky.com.
However, I don't think your registration (or lack of) will prevent you from downloading the app. Just use your N73 to navigate to the above address and don't try it on your PC as the .asp page checks the device as it loads to ensure you download the correct version.
If all else fails, contact Sky Anytime by Mobile support on 0870 609 2839.
And if you are desperate, there is a Java version of the app that does the Sky+ recording but not the mobile TV. Check this thread for more details....
