Hi at all,
first of all I have to say my English is sometimes very bad. So if you doesn't understand some confusing sentences please ask me.
So I have a N80 and i want to pair it with a other bluetooth device. Which has a Passkey containing Letters. But after a long search I got the information that no Nokia Phone supports Alphanumeric Keys.
How can I fix my Problem without reprogramming the other bluetooth device passkey? Does a new Firmware fix it?
Perhaps you can help me.
Thank you
Ive just tried it, and my N95 takes alphanumeric tho PCSuite only takes numeric. My N80 is paired with numerics but I dont have it to hand to see if it can add alpha characters. I 'assume' it will be the same with the N80 as its the same PC suite.
So I guess it may be a case of just going numeric?

Yeah it seems so. But does the newest firmware fix it? I think no. So is there still a way to make whatever in order to solve that problem.
Well Nokia isn't so Consumerfriendly as it seems. This fact (only numeric passkey) i have found in a forum but not on any Nokia Website.
Well its not a firmware issue. You can use alphanumeric on the phone just not on Nokia software to connect.
Ok well no firmware issue. But can it be solved by another way. Well my ideas get fewer and fewer.
But I think it must be a software problem, a hardware problem is unbelievable.

LOL I got an answer from Nokia Germany
To summarize:
Try # to solve it.
Well this will abord the bt connection process. It's funny to see that they didn't know about the functions of their phones
Well, finally i have changed the code by reprogramming the chip. So Nokia can do what they want I got my solution.
For me the thread is CLOSED
