Hi All,
I have a problem where I can see my text messages in the Inbox,
they are all listed there, but I can't open them.
N95 on Orange v11.0.026 with 2GB scandisk micro SD card.
Messages were set to store on the memory card.
A few nights ago I went to open a text message one I'd previously read and couldn't, screen just flashed at me but didn't open. restarted phone, same thing. Went into PC Suite and tried from there but it wouldn't see any messages.
Changed message memory back to phone and texted myself, worked fine,
changed back to card and retexted myself, phone didn't even acknowledge there was a message, switched back to phone message and it received it.
Figured the card my be corrupt, put it in a card reader and ran chkdsk /r
and retried. Still the same
Backed up phone up to PC, formated card, restored back to card, same thing can see the messages but can't open them.
Formated card, restored to an earlier backup ( 3 months old, yeah I know !! )
Worked fine but I hadn't backup up "MyFolder" which contains the text messages I need to keep.
Got a new memory card and restored, same thing.
So now any new messages that come in I can read, anything older than a couple of days I can see but not open.
It's very infuriating, like they are just within reach, but I'm at a loss what to try next.
Any ideas ?
