Add Contacts From Call History

My phone cannot do this. For e.g. a new contact called and the phone number is in the 'Received calls' items. But how to use the new number to create a new contact.
Have to copy by pen to paper the number and then create contact in the Contact menu.
But in Messaging, the phone number is underlined and can be used to create the new contact.
Please help. Thx.

It seems to work Ok for me if I select the number in the Received calls list, press Options, select Save to Contacts, then Create new.

Then tell it what kind of entry to store the number under (Mobile, Home, Business etc) then fill in the rest of the details and press Done.

My Option key does not respond in all the call log menu i.e. Received calls, Missed calls etc. Maybe, it is conflicting with some other program? Worse, is it infected with virus? Thx.
