Are there any file compression apps to compress not just apss but your midi files and text docs as well

I have had a look on the link to the stacker information but could not see and other info on this problem

many thanks for you help

Space Doubler will do it.

When you've got your list of applications on the screen, move the joystick to the right, and you are presented with a list of groups. Just create a new group, and add any files or folders to it that you want to compress.

stacker should do the trick! but if you compress say the midi files, you wont be able to use that as ringtone. 😊

Stacker wins hands down, and, although I beta test for Symbianware, have paid for and own both (Stacker and Sdoubler) so I guess that makes it an unbiased and honest opinion. 😃

I have to say that I like sDoubler... I've been using them both and the new sDoubler (v1.31...) wins!

I had some problems whit stacker. Sometimes when I quit from app, stacer didn't pack it when I tryed manually to pack it stacker said that app is busy. After reboot of the phone I was able to do this.

sDoubler can do better the "background" packing after closing prog. I have noticed that it stops compressing if you do something, so you can use more smoothly the menus.

This is only my opinion. :-?

I believe that the app bussy app will be fixed very soon.
As for background packing,Stacker works excelent, you wont even notice any performace loss.

Already fixed, just wait a little for next release, it will come soon...

is it possible to compress java games with these programs, and play them wihtout have to manually decompress them before playing?

hugs,

Java programs are already compressed in zip format so it isnt possible to compress them again...well it is possible but will result in bugger size! These applications do compress files that are created from java apps like highscore files and datafiles etc.
