Hi
Can some-one help with a music player problem
Is there anyway to get the music player to ignore small music files such as ringtones and text tones etc?
Apart from manually adding individual tracks to a playlist?
Thanks V Much

yes theres away, i use fexplorer but x-plore will do, set ur tones in profiles thet u want to use, then open the file explorer app and locate the small tones etc, edit the attributes and set them to hidden so then the music player wont find them, hope it helps
I think Im misunderstanding something here.... are your ringtones in your gallery?? What are you trying to do?
Hi,
I just copied some mp3 files (without converting to aac) using the filemanager from the nokia suite to my memory card on the phone. I put them in the existing directory Sound clips/Digital sounds (where my normal albums are stored as well).
Even when I let the music player refresh the music library, it will not find them.
This is kind of good and bad... it is a language course (spanish) in too many tiny files and it would be good if I could play them automatically one after the other.
But its good that it doesn't pop up when shuffling my normal music.
Now I play them from the File manager on the phone, but that plays only one file and doesn't continue to the next.
So it's kind of opposite to what you have.
why??? I don't know.

When you open up the music player it scans for music files to play.
It finds ALL off them, so therefore if you set it to "random play" your music, it will play your ringtones too

The hiding method works. Either set them to hidden on your PC before copying them across (of course you need to set your PC to show hidden files) or use something like y-browser on the phone itself and set the atributes to hidden on there.
I haven't really got much to add, except that I agree it's a pita to have downloaded ringtones show up in Gallery. I've established that pre-loaded ringtones are in z:\data\sounds\digital, and presumably Gallery doesn't look there. You can't copy downloaded ringtones there, of course, because it's ROM.
If you set the 'hidden' attribute, this will presumably also hide it from the ringtones list? So you'd have to set it as a ringtone, then hide it.
