Help! Can no longer use Create Message from Options menu in Contacts

I may be having a blonde moment here, but recently (not sure when this started, but in the last few days), something's gone wrong. I used to send all my text messages by going to Contacts, scrolling to a name, pressing Options and selecting Create message. Now when I do this, instead of prompting me for what type of message (Text, MMS, etc.), my E90 just takes me back to the list of contacts I was looking at before.

I've tried uninstalling any software I've installed recently, and have rebooted the phone without the memory card installed (which is where I install all my software).

I can't think of any relevant settings I may have changed recently, but maybe there's something I've missed.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

In case anybody cares, I did a factory reset on my phone and restored things bit-by-bit until I saw the problem again ... which turned out to be the point at which I restored my messaging files ... including the Windows Live folder.

I transferred my messages to my old E70, factory reset again, and restored everything except messaging to my E90, plus messages from my E70, and everything's now fine.
