i have a few mp3's on my 9210.
a thought just came through my mind...
all cell phones are basically RADIO technology...am i right?
so can we have some software that will transmit the mp3's via a fixed radio channel (FM) so that i can just tune into it using any car stereo...
or does that require a hardware extra?
was just a crazy thought...or rather a wish...
what do u think.
BTW i am yet waiting for someone to come up with this software....
i have a database of logos, ringtones & a contact database on my 9210, now if someone wants any one of the above, all they have to do is send me a sms with some command words in the begining & my phone will send them a logo or ringtone or wahatever they have asked for...
i really felt the need to geting a few contact databases once myself, as i had left my phone at home.
cheers

Let me see if I understand you correctly. You want your cellphone to broadcast a FM signal.
This is not possible without extra harware.
1. Although a cellphone/mobile also use an electromagnetic wave, the cellphone is designed for much higher frequencies than the standard FM radio. That is why the arial is much shorter.
2. To get the distance more that a couple of meters, one would need serious output power from the arial. There goes the battery.
3. To get the distance more that a kilometer, the arial needs to be elevated. What is the use having a phone when you have to permenantly leave it tied to a mast outside your house?
And this is not even touching on the subject of broadcasting rights, licensing, etc.
yes you are absolutely corrcet, but i was thinking on terms of just about 1metre, cause then i can keep the phone on my car dashboard & then catch the signal with my FM car stereo, i know i could alter the tape thingy & connect it to the handsfree port, but i dont have a tape player in my car, only a cd...so thats out. how else... i dont have an AUX input...so thats out...forget it!!...
i guess its cheaper to burn music cd's on 1 re-writeable disk & then atleast i'll have STEREO... haha..
anyways thanks for your input.

It could be possible to make an short distance FM transmitter and run it off of the add-on port on the 9210, but you'd need to run the phone off of the cigarette lighter socket to keep it powered, and the audio quality would still be gash.
Try this page on MP3Kit.com.
Apparently, there's something in Radio Shack as well.
Anyway, happy searching!
