Does leaving Bluetooth on run down the battery?

Does anyone know if leaving the bluetooth setting on effect the battery at all? I have always left it on on other devices with no problems, but as the N95 battery life is poor at the best of times, I don't know if it is making any difference. After all, the Bluetooth function is only activated when scanning for other devices and doing file transfer is it not?

i'd say so mate, i know on older phones bluetooth would drain the battery. i only turn mine on if i need it

Bluetooth requires power, therefore leaving it switched on will draw power from the battery cell.

Ive found that leaving the device non-discoverable only has a neglible effect on battery as its not constantly broadcasting and is just simply more conventiate ( if you like me for example use external GPS or connect with handsfree devices )

But yes leaving it on will drain battery, leaving it discoverable more so.
