Profile Switcher

I am looking at epocware's Handy Profile application to switching my profile when I get to my place of work, i.e. using mobile cell information.

Is this the best one available?
Can you recommend any more that will perform this based on the following:-

- Cell (location)
- Busy in calendar
- Timed switching

Thanks
Mark

thanks, will take a look at that.

Anymore worth looking at?

I'd just like to say that I got Handy Profile just a couple of days ago, and I love it. I work odd shift patterns (combination of days and nights in the same week), and I put all my shifts into the calendar, then synced the phone up with my Mac. I then told HP to switch the phone to 'work' profile whenever it sees my shifts in the calendar. I also set up a rule telling it to switch back to 'General' when I am at home.

Sat down at work the first night, and 'beep' - my phone switched automatically. Got home in the morning and 'beep' - it switched back. Fantastic.

Obviously I'm just scratching the surface with what it can do, but I think this software rocks. It does exactly what it says on the tin. 😊

Would I be correct in saying that both Handy Profile and miniGPS need to be manually started each time you turn the phone on? What is their RAM usage like??

Im just trying miniGPS and its works fine based on cell location only, however it doesn't do any switching based on calendar events.

Does Handy Profile do cell location if so how reliable is it?

Cell location worked great for me. To set it up, I had to walk around the house with phone in hand while it scanned. As I said above, when I got home from work in the morning, my phone beeped when I walked through the door, as my phone switched profiles automatically.

Is it possible to add cells to a location after it's been defined in Handy Profile?

Also, can cells depend on altitude as well as latitude/longitude?

Does anyone have experienced in both miniGPS and Handy Profiles to give us a direct comparision?

They both have trial versions; why don't you test them out and see which is right for you?
