Voice Commands

Can anyone tell me how i can assign voice commands to my contacts....for example if i want to ring my girlfriend, i can just press the button and say her name and it will ring her.

At the moment all i get is some random default computer voice, and i cant find an option to add my own voice command to her contact!

I'm not sure why you would need to have your own voice read back the contact you've selected, other than the synthesiser sounding strange - the voice dialling system is supposed to automatically adjust for your voice, so you just hold down the right soft key at the standby screen and then say the name. You don't have to add voice tags for every contact like you do on some other phones.

No it wasnt so that i could hear my name back - i just thought that i would never be able to match that dodgy computer voice, and thought i would have to put each one in manually!! hee hee! :icon14:

So what are the best options for this then?

Synthesiser: ON?

So basically the phone should get used to my voice eventually and then i should be able to bring up everyone from my contacts?

Yeah I was confused how to get it to work at first, but it just matches what you say with a contact name in your list. It's not like the old Nokias where you have to enter your own voice for each name you want to dial.

If it gets the wrong name just press the green call button & it'll try the next, etc. Useful with a handsfree, just pressing the call button to try another.

It's also worth remembering that it will match your voice to the Nickname field as well, so if you file a person under their full name you can add a nickname for a more personal voice dial name!

Ahh thats great to know, theres a couple in my phone book with long names and ive tried speaking them in and it just says "NO MATCH FOUND" so now ill add some Nicknames and use those to call 😉

Thanks! :icon14:
