Problems with contacts

Hi
I'm having the following problems with phone numbers/contacts in my phone:

1. Incoming calls display the actual telephone number, rather than the name of the contact who's calling me (annoying when you don't know who's calling you!)

2. No longer seems to be an option to add a contact to a group. When I go into groups and try to add members to a group, it brings up my contacts, but when I add one and click OK, the contacts application just closes without any new contacts being added to the group.

3. I have contacts assigned to speed dial numbers, but pressing and holding the relevant number (say for example '8' for my wife's mobile) no longer does anything. Pressing and holding '1' still gets me into voicemail, and pressing and holding '0' does open the browser.

I recently re-formatted my memory card and re-loaded a new version of the firmware to rectify a mal-functioning memory-card issue. Is this some sort of hang-over from that?

Any advice?

Regards

I had this problem and it was solved by getting a 'sim update' from my service provider.

I managed to get all 3 issues resolved. Just wanted to share how, in case anyone in future has these problems.

I called Nokia and had some very good techincal support from them.

They first tackled the problem of adding a contact to a group.
I was asked to create a new group. I did this, and then adding members to this new group worked fine. Now when I highlight a contact and click options, it gives me the menu choices 'add to group' and 'belong to groups' which went missing earlier.
I deleted the old group (which somehow must have been corrupt) and this is all OK.

The other 2 issues were inter-related. And it was to do with duplicate entries in my contacts. I went through them all and discovered that for some reason (and I don't know how- perhaps corruption during various PC Suite back-ups/restoring of data) I had 3 or 4 contacts duplicated. I deleted the copies (which at the time of deletion looked strange, as they were still showing for a while, then they were showing in the list as a blank entry for a bit too), turned my phone off and on again, and now contacts details come up when they call me and my speed dial is working again.

Hope this is of benefit to anyone suffering the same annoying issues!

Hi steven, I can`t even get to group, let alone add a contact!
The book is non-functional, and I don`t want to have to send 58 individual text messages!
Please help if you can - anyone may involve themselves.
Luv Pants.
