Hey, I have a Nokia N80i. Im in the U.S and my service provider is AT&T, for some reason i can receive texts but it doesn't let me send out a text? Why is this? What do i need to do?
Thanks in advance.
P.S i tried calling AT&T for help and they said since the phone is from europe they dont know what to do with it, which personally i think its a load of crap.
What number do you have set as the Messaging Center? Is this a valid AT&T number?
Im not sure what number i have set, the person i bought the phone from had Tmobile when he used it, and yea this is a valid AT&T number
is that all i need? to change the Messaging Center number and it should work? I know there cant be anything wrong with the phone simply cause of the fact that i can receive but not send.
As far as messaging center, I think it's based on the region of the US on what number you should use. Mine is in Chicago IIRC.
Call AT&T CS...they should be able to help you set the correct messaging center.
Alright, i called them and i did change the messaging center number, but that didnt help, then the guy in the end said if it still doesnt work to do a total reset of the phone, like basically erase everything to its original settings, but i wanna leave that as my last option.
Any other suggestions?
Alright, so i entered the correct Messaging Center number for Domestic that it states on the AT&T site, so now it says the text is "Sent" and is in my sent box which it wasnt before, but when i ask the people i send the text to if they got it, they never receive it.
this is weird
This is what I have in my Settings -> Text Msg. (so you can compare it to yours)
- Msg centre in use: SMS Settings (make sure the AT&T Messaging Center is put correctly in here)
- Character encoding: reduced support
- Receive report: No
- Message Validity: 24 hrs.
- Message Sent as: Text
- Preferred Conn: GSM/UMTS
- Reply via same ctr.: No
