Debranding an 02 E90 + Vodafone MMS settings...

Hi guys - first post and a question that I hope someone can answer.

I'm using what was an O2 Nokia E90, but will be using a Vodafone SIM with it. Don't ask, it's complicated...

I've been trying to remove every trace of O2 branding from it but can't quite manage it - I particularly hate the welcome/goodbye screens and could do without them. Is there anyway to reflash the firmware to the manufacturer's own? I've seen plenty of information for practically every other Nokia in existence, but not an E90 - is that just because it's too new? I've re-installed the latest firmware using the NSU but that just returns it to the O2 defaults.

Also, and I think this is as a result of it being an old O2 phone, I don't seem to be able to set up any MMS server settings. I've long since deleted the 02 access point details, but when I set up a new one using the Voda settings, the Messaging settings don't want to choose anything apart from Vodafone GPRS - i think the O2 firmware is only going to be happy using O2 MMS settings.

So any help or information would be appreciated guys.

ps - oh, apart from that, great phone!

You need to change your product code with NSS

(see the post at the top of this forum)

I think everything is covered there

Most important tip (IMO) is DO NOT BACK UP YOUR PHONE BEFORE AND THEN TRY TO RESTORE AFTER THE FLASH !! 😊

Well the debranding certainly worked - cheers for that.

I can now get the Multimedia Messaging to accept another Access Point now as well - problem is the connection details I have must be wrong...

Does anyone have Vodafone MMS settings handy?

You can find the settings for Vodafone from their online Help centre ( vodafonehelp.co.uk)

You will need to select the make and model of your handset and have the settings sent out to you. Alternatively you can request these settings from Vodafone by calling on 08700 700191 (or 191 from your Vodafone handset), or using the online contact page (online.vodafone.co.uk/dispatch/Portal/appmanager/vodafone/wrp?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=Page_Help_ContactUs&pageID=PCU_0002)
