Any news on the next firmware upgrade?

24 replies · 6,674 views · Started 30 October 2007

We've had v12 for nearly 4 months now, which isnt that long considering some phones, but I think we are due an update sometime soon.

Anyone know anything about v13?

I've seen rumours that the next update is a 'big' update and may be more like V20, but that's rumours for you.. no idea.

Im on Orange and i couldnt - so i just changed the product code, and then upgraded hee hee :icon14:

To be honest, given that I don't use the GPS I can't say I'm too fussed and the other updates don't sound particularly life-changing. Certainly not enough to be bothered going down the route of changing product codes etc! Far too much like hard work! 😊

YUP I DID THE same aswell wookie!
as far as not updating...theres a big difference in speed on v.12 as menus and pics etc load up quicker....also orange put oo much crap on the fone so had to debrand to make it mine...lol

I should have mine very soon and will be de-branding also.

How'd you go about retrieving internet/mms/sms/etc. settings?

I can imagine the next big release will coincide with the flash lite 3.0 release from Adobe. Before the end of the year possibly?

your operator will send it to you when u switch your fone on again for first time after debranding...if not go to nokia website and do it from there.

just go onto your phones website where u can find the option of sending phone setting by text which when opening will auto load onto your phone. ive done it with my voda phone

Crispy

You dont need to 😊

The unbranded firmware comes with the Setup Wizard which will automagically set up GPRS/MMS based on the network your connected to.

Certainly there will be an update... they have to include music store and ngage... let's hope they give us dynamic paging as well 😃

As for getting the MMS settings and everything back lol - it sorta works on mine.

I can still send SMS no problem, but i definately cant send MMS, ive tried getting them from the orange site, the nokia site and from ringing Orange haha - it dont work :P

Thats tomorrow...

So hopefully we will be running V20 tomorrow night?
Or is that just a dream?

heh .. little TimeZone humour there 😊

Well theres still no new firmware so the blog saying 2nd Novemeber was wrong, as far as NSU is concerned anyway.

If you read the blog again, the last thing it says is that it will be released within the next 2 weeks. The ngage software is on the 2nd.

I too received the dev copy today. However, the dev copy is a standalone player. Adobe are not releasing the browser integration until the new year.
I'm pretty convinced that this is when the new update will arrive.
