I tried running the NSU a few times before and had actually given up on that being an option, although I was fairly interested in why the inner screen was displaying the NOKIA logo.
I had just accepted the fact that the only realistic option left was to take it to a service point, when I found this post.
You have saved me hassle, time, and I'm sure a load of money and grief too.

This has been a difficult to reconnect my phone and I have taken my phone to a nokia repair center. The experience has not been pleasant and not to talk about the inconvenience. My problems with NSU is that I think nokia is not being robust in its efforts to smooth out the process. I suspect that UK networks have made in difficult by commissioning their own firmware and individuals wanting the latest Nokia firmware. My phone broke down upgrading from the Orange 13.0.0.03.😡
