hey all
i have been lurking for a while, reading and learning. i have only had a Nokia 6280 for the last 20 months.
BUT
2 days ago i got my N95 8Gb.
its awesome.
there a few things i have to get used to, that are different to my older phone.... but thats understandable ha ha ha.
everything is really responsive and fast. the sound quality is really good too.
i have played a few mp3s, but i'll put a few albums on soon and give it a good try out.
the GPS is really responsive too.... updated much faster than i thought it would, as i am driving along.... updates about every half a second. i have turned off AGPS as i dont want and extra cost, so dont know how long it takes to get a fix using AGPS. without it it takes a minute or more... i'll have to time it.
i have connected it to my home WiFi network and setup my email.
was also browsing the net last night too.
the demos of the n-gage games that come on it (fifa 07 and asphalt 3) are very good... .i can see myself buying a few of these.
so far im very happy with it.
still got a lot more to learn about it too and put heaps more apps on.
cheers
Ryan
Did you get it with vodafone?
That it has NO MicroSD expansion slot... Many thanx 😊

hi!
that's a nice upgrade you got there. i was just wondering...
if you've tried the landscape gaming mode on it? does it allow you to play with the d-pad on the left and are the media keys on right usable (similar to the
n81)? i only had a few minutes of play with it on the store but never got around to actually testing the n-gage games.
do tell about your discoveries, as some of us are already on the n95-1 and it'll be hard to think of replacing them anytime soon...
Karlo
havnt tried landscape gaming yet, as it is still very usable in portrait...
but i'll give it a look at tonight.
from what i have done .. in landscape, the d pad is on the right and the media keys are on the left..... im not sure if you can change it around the other way.
seki
yup no card slot... but really with 8Gb... you dont really need need it... well i dont think so...... i mean... i'll put a bunch of albums on maybe 2 Gb worth and leave the rest for taking pix and vids with. and software and games. but i cant eva see 8Gb being too small.
i bought it outright. $1100AUS
and im salary sacrificing it through my work, so its actually only costing me $700AUS
i have put on a few other games and apps.
like papyrus and route 66.
everything works so well
just rapt with it really.
im not too sure if its worth an upgrade to, if you already have the N95-1...... (official name for the N958Gb is N95-2 according to the manual)
it does pretty much all the same things. but it does do them a bit faster and easier due to double the RAM and new/different firmware.
i was going to get the N95-1 about 2 mths ago until i heard bout the 8Gb and just held off till it was available.
i think they are both awesome phones... but the 8Gb does seem to address a few issues the N95-1 has.
but hey upgrade if you want to... it is a really great phone.
the slider action is solid
Hahah salary sacrificing for a phone. Good Idea. * grabs a delichoice form *
