File copying broken - PBnnnnn.tmp files!

5 replies · 3,102 views · Started 31 October 2007

Well, it's not THAT often I get stumped. I'm running PC SUite 6.84 under Windows Vista and all was well. And now, all of a sudden, when I try and drag and drop files to copy from the 'Nokia phone browser' folders onto my hard disk, all I get are 'Pbnnnnn.tmp' shortcut files. 8-(

Has anyone any idea what's happened?

TIA,
Steve Litchfield

Not what you wanna hear but I'd go for a re-install of PC Suite

Is it both phone memory and memory card that cause the problem?

I read "Vista" in there somewhere.

I've been struggling with a new Vista box for a couple of weeks, now. Copying files around the WLAN is pretty much a no-go, and even copying files around different folders within the same box is a bit iffy. I'm frankly surprised it ever worked at all with Nokia PC Suite.

Still got an XP licence?

I use Vista and the latest version of PC Suite and everything works perfectly so it isn't, inherently, a Vista problem

Hmm.... after a device and PC power cycle, things are working normally again. Sigh. Computers, eh!
