N73 phone memory full - but wheres the data?

Hi, ive been using my N73 with few probs for a year now.
All my files normally go onto the memory card, including photos ive taken. Up until last night i had 25mb free on my phone memory, but last night i got an error message something like "please delete some data memory full" and Handy Taskman is reporting that my phone memory only has 173k left!

Nothing unusual has happened recently except i took a load of photos last night, but they all go on my memory card which still shows 200mb free.

Ive browsed the folders on my phone and cannot find anywhere the 44mb of data that is allegedly filling up my phone memory.

I dont want to wipe the phone.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Strangeness - ive cleared out a couple of photos that had been in my phone memory since before i had a memory card (only 4 or 5 pics) and my free memory went up to 21mb. I checked it an hour later and it had gone down to 2.5mb - NO FURTHER CHANGES had been made at this point. Rebooted the phone and i now have 22mb free.....
Obviously something is up with my handset, no idea what though.....
