My phone keeps going online (there are the 2 arrows under the reception bars), and when it does, it causes a lot of interference with my speakers. That is not entirely the issue though, I more want to know why it is doing this as I am tired of looking at my phone thinking it is about to ring or that a message has been received! (the screen will light up etc)
Going through the traffic logs, every 30mins my phone makes an outbound packet connection to the multimedia messaging server and sends 10kB of data. In return it receives about 250 to 270kB of data, every time. This has been happening for probably a week now and is driving me crazy.
I definately am not trying to send an MMS nor am I receiving one during these times. How do I find out wtf the phone/server is trying to do???
maybe emails, or installed softwares that sends and receives data. i think some softwares have update check so it goes onlne. Try restoring your phone to factory settings...you will lose all phone data.
What is the setting of packet data? (tools>settings>packetdata>packet data connection)
You could try changing it to "when needed" rather than "when available".
Also, when its sending data, try long-pressing the menu key to see what programs are open.

Thankyou for your replies and suggestions everyone. I have checked the phone logs and as of 03/11 it has stopped sending all that packet data to the MMS server. It is clear that SInce that date there is no further interference on my loudspeakers caused by the same issue.
I have a feeling that it is related to, as it also occurred at the same time as the problem I raised my thread named "Unable to retrieve multimedia message" posted on 27/10 (sorry I can't seem to post the full URL due to having <10 posts made on my account):
Perhaps the rogue MMS finally expired and was deleted off the server, phew!
