Can anyone explain to me how the ISPGPRS conncection works?

If i am correct in thinking can i make a connection to the internet on my N95 using my ISP's data usage?

I have been into the settings and set my DNS, username & password but i'm getting no gateway reply. I don't know about proxy's and the port settings so any info would be helpful.

Cheers:tongue:

No, GPRS is done by your network provider, i.e. vodafone, O2, orange etc etc.

There is no ISP involved.

If you want the settings, theres usually a page on the site of your network provider that will give you all these settings.

Quite often they allow an option to send the settings via sms which is free and will automatically set it up on your phone.

GPRS can be EXPENSIVE, so check what sort of data allowance (if any) you have on your contract.

Although it sounds like you could be on about wifi, which if you use a wireless router, you can use your ISP's allowance. Just set it up as you would any wireless device you connect to your router.

I have all my GPRS settings from vodafone setup and is working fine also works a treat on my wifi network at home, i was just messing around with the phone and saw ISP and my mind went into overdrive and started wondering what if....😊

Thanks for the swift reply anyway.

Top notch forum by the way, i've been browsing here since i got my N95 back in april and is my first port of call if i have any queries or want to mess around with new stuff on my phone.
