Viewing files on N95 via home network

Hi - I have succesfully setup a connection with my PC on the N95. However, although I can see my music and pictures everytime I go to open a picture the only option I have is VIEW VIA HOME NETWORK and then it says NO DEVICES. Am I doing something wrong? The only option I seem to have is to copy the image/music file to my phone.

The 'View via Home Network' option is used to send gallery files to a UPnP device - these are things like media centres, which isn't quite what you want I think? It sounds like you've connected the N95 to a PC and now want to transfer files from the phone to the PC. Is that right?

Thanks for responding. Actually it's the other way round. If i'm downstairs for instance I want to be able to view my pictures on my N95 from my PC on the home network instead of having to save them to the phone each time

SymSMB doesn't allow you to preview a file on a remote computer, so you're stuck in the same boat, I'm afraid..

Look for Orb 2.0 its free. Create a login/pass setup what you need then have it running in the background, Then log onto web using your phone. Go to orb.com and you will see your homepage, you click on file browser and you can search through your files n look at piccys stream video. Even while away from your wifi you can log on 3g and do the same, Cool

Download a free trial of SymSMB 2.0 - this app does exactly what you want.
