Hi guys
Apologies if this has been posted before but I couldn't find it.
This is my first time on here so be gentle.
Quick question to all please.
May sound like a newbie question but driving me mad.
I have N73 phone updated firmware
Tom Tom v6.01 (not illegal)
GPS receiver similar to BT q210 but 51 not 32 channels.
Manual with gps very sparse and no software to go with it.
Q is: N73 can pair with gps via bluetooth, tomtom software on phone, do I have to anything with gps as nothing seems to be happening? When I start tomtom on n73 all I get is the front screen saying tomtom and a spinning globe.
Please help as all are going thru window soon.
Have spoken to tomtom support but they were very vague and techie.
Cheers

sounds like a crooked installation, would it be possible for you to uninstall and re-install it?
other thing you can do, turnoff bluetooth, unpair all paired devices then start tomtom
Yes thanks I 'll try a full install again to make sure. Still unsure about the gps receiver though. I know it pairs via bluetooth, but is that all it needs? No software of connection to pc seems strsnge.

as for pairing with the gps receiver, most of them can be paired easily with n73 with the provided passcode and instructions and then 'authorizing' it. my bt-77 works this way.
the only exception i found is that, the copilot bluetooth gps from my work. i could never be able to pair it with my n73 with the 'bluetooth connectivity' in my phone. but surprisingly tomtom(installed in my n73) can easily find it and work perfectly with it.
as for tomtom, after you have successfully made it work it will first ask you to enable bluetooth (if bluetooth not already enabled on phone) after the spinning globe is gone. if you are given a choice, u should go the 'other gps device' and select the found gps device. then u'll be asked some questions about setting units, home location (put any address u want, u can change it later)....etc.
alternatively. u can start tomtom, 'agree' to the software license (unfortunately it will come up every time u start tomtom).
then 'press' the joystick on n73 which will take u to menu.
move down to step5, to 'change preferences', 'select'
go to preferences 4of5, select 'show gps status'
select 'configure'
select 'next'
then select the detected gps device(provided bluetooth already on)
