Customising Desk

Right while I quite like the desk application, and it achieves all I needed from Active Desk, I'd quite like to be able to customise it. I.e. change the application icons it shows for ones I'm more likely to use, and if possible force it to allow 2 likes of applications on the front screen to use some of the wasted space there (at the moment the file manager and bluetooth icons vanish when I close the lid). Unfortunately I've looked through the control panel and found nothing to help, and the Desk application itself doesn't seem to have a settings option.

Am I stuck with still having to buy an alternate Desk application to get the functionality I want or is there a way of editing the settings for the standard Desk app?

You can change the apps icons for the desk top here:

tools>settings>greneral>personalisation>standby mode> active standby apps

This allows you to change the six apps on the external screen. The other two icons are only changable using the above path when selected with the internal screen active

You can also use
Settings/General/Personalisation/Standby Mode/Shortcuts to change the action of the left and right function keys on the Desktop as well.
