Ok, my statement.

The whole situation with the warnings make me sick!!!

Zipper just posted a link and the mod gave him a warning.
Just make a statement about it and tell him what's wrong with the post, not immediately send him a warning.

(OK i am not in the mood these days and when I see such thinks I get really MAAAAD)

At least respect these people for the long time they spend in this forum, these people make the forum interesting not moderators

I may sound offensive/strick but I just can't stand it, although I don't have any warnings and I am still a beginner here.

PS: When you give power to someone weak, he will become greedy and eventually will destroy you. And when he will understand what he had done and see the consicuences, it would be too late.-THIS IS MY WARNING TO THE MODERATORS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THEIR WEBSITE/FORUM.
I'm not going to get into a 'mass-dibate' 😊 about this, i'd just like to say this is a bit OTT.

Zipper can get a second opinion on his warning if he feels the need, but i'd like to point out that the Hantro T-mobile appication has been banned for sometime, it's fair enough that he may have over looked this, but it seems he has posted the link again (as a guest).

I am locking this thread for now, as I can see anything constuctive coming from it, only pointless arguements.

Having said that I don't want to deny anyone their freedom of speech, so if anyone would like to add some comments to this thread, then please contact me or any admin/moderator to give you 2 cents, but as it stands I can see the repeating pattern of 'undesirable' links appearing left, right and centre.

<Senior Admin Hat on>

(1) AAS recieved a legal notification that the Hantro Video App was to be removed and not linked to from our Forum.

Irrespecitive of your misunderstandings on freeware, shareware and what a software licence is, the AAS position is clear. AAS asks you not to post a link to Hantro. You did. That's a warning. And a pretty clear cut one at that.

(2) The only authorised sites to distribute Hantro are WIND and T-MOBILE Germany, to their own customers. Any other link is unauthorised. Again, pretty clear cut, and born out with the letter AAS recieved.

I AM NOT TRYING TO PULL CRAP - I am explaining HANTRO'S Stance, the DIFFERENCE and Finites of FREEware and SHAREware. LEGALLY it is OK to LINK to a site hosting this file, however Hosting it WITHOUT permission IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
See points (1) and (2) and teh rules of the AAS Forum you agreed to when you joined. And you were linking to a site not authorised by Hantro. Whoops.
I am surprised at peoples ignorance regarding legality of Shareware and freeware.
Let's see, you want to accuse one of the founder members of FreEPOC on a definition of freeware that is incorrect, misinformed, and plain wrong? Christ on a bike. You're definitions are wrong and you can read why on the Topic you started to discuss your viewpoint/
I wasnt posting it as a debate, I am stating it as fact. I am sorry if this, along with the detail of freeware and shareware was unclear to you.
Your facts were wrong. You were told that and blundered on breaking pretty much every rule we have on illegal software. Is it any wonder when the moderators and admin spend so much time trying to keep this site clean of warez that when we tried to calmly correct this you kept on going and got annoyed when we took stronger action???

I'll just quickly add here that Ewan is absolutely right in his post.

I have been able to confirm that the sites in question do not have distribution rights. These right currently reside with Operators (this is the only way hantro currently plan to release the software). Only these operators can distribute the software. If you think there is another source that does please contact me privately and I will check it out. if a site is offering a copy of the software do not link to it without first checking with me (hope that's clear).

I am dissappointed that the mods have been criticised here. They are following my instructions (which are in turn as a result of a legal letter from Hantro). If you have a problem you should contact me as the forums rules indicate. Please understand that we do try to be fair. If you have a problem there is a mechanism for dealing with this. The mods help for free in their own time and follow guidelines set by me. They were made perfectly clear in this case. The moderators have not made a mistake here.

Handango's German site is http://www.handango.com/de and does not distribute the software. The site mistakenly referred to as Handango's sister is not related to Handango.

I hope this is clear.

Rafe

P.s. I have since confirmed the post supposedly from Hantro is fake.
