tried googling and couldn't find an answer. the video file is a dcf file and from what I read on various boards putting the file back into the phone after a hard reset will simply not cut it. you need some activation key or something like that....has anybody done this successfully? I want to do a hard reset but not at the cost of losing the movie.

Why can't you just download the movie in avi format if you like it so much? 😉
i can do that..but then a file encoded by nokia for the n95 is always goin to be better right than me trying to encode. other than that, i dont want to lose the preloaded content as well.

bluetooth what? you can transfer the movie file without any problem to you comp..but the real problem is when u put it back in the phone. the phone says you need an activation key from what i've read on different forum boards. nokia full backup from the software doesn't work and it does not backup that movie file for some weird unknown reason.

Man, screw Nokia and their weird policies. Get Smartmovie 3.41 to watch .avi files on your N95, download PocketDivxEncoder to change the size of a file (if you don't wanna show it on TV) and the torrent is your friend to get any avi movie you want.
