Anyone had good upgrade/retentions deals from 3 on the Nokia N95?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone had been offered any good deals from 3 on the Nokia N95?

I've just put my notice in because they wont do any deals - only what's on the website.

Thanks

Ian

Last time I enquired - 3 were not doing the N95. Have they changed their minds now and offering it on their network?

Good question, I am in exactly the same position - and have handed in my notice and am moving over to t-mobile.

Three's upgrade deals are pathetic - considering they want to tie you in to a new 18 month contract, they are attempting to fob you off with old phones. I have an N80 and wanted to upgrade to an N95. What was I offered? An N73 or an E65. When I insisted an upgrade would have to be for an N95, they offered me exactly the same deal that is on their website - that's a great loyalty reward. When I said t-mobile can give me an N95 for 129.99 with a 22.50 contract for unlimited data and a good wodge of texts and minutes, they grudgingly offered me one month's free data access. Finally, having turned that down, the obviously irritated call centre rep (in Mumbai??) said "Mr Smith, maybe you shouldn't be on this network as you don't recognise a good deal". The final nail in 3's coffin...ridiculous. Will be signing up with t-mobile tomorrow...

What the hell?! That is brilliant. I love how offended these people get when you don't just bend over and take what they want to force on you. They do seem to forget that the buyer holds all the cards and you can tell them to jog on if they aren't competitive, which they clearly aren't. I would have flipped if they'd said that to me, but as a t-mobile customer I can definately tell you, it is the right choice.

Blimey. Should have said 'Your right, bye.' and put the phone down.

I dont understand why all these people get annoyed when your just trying to find the best deal.

Had it at a phone shop when looking to get my GF on a better tariff/contract.

I said we can get such and such online, and was told 'Oh, we cant match online prices' so I said 'Ok, thanks anyway' and walked out. Heard her huff very loud, and very annoyed.

Puzzles me it does.

I know, like you are gonna say "that's ok getting it from a shop is more important than a good deal!" 🙄

Hi,

Yeah, it's annoying when you say you want a certain deal because you've heard other people get it or seen it with a competitor and they tell you that it's a lie, they can't do that deal and then try to offer you a more way expensive deal as if they expect you to take it - they then get funny with you when you wont.

My main problem is signal though - I dont get any T-mobile signal at home, Orange is sketchy but 3 is full.

I reckon a lot of people think that your wasting their time, dispite the fact they are there regardless and are paid for it.

I suspect with all of these companies, the more contracts you sell, the more you get paid. Fair enough. But I'd have had a lot more respect for them if they'd actually said "to be honest, we can't match t-mobile's deal" rather than suggest there's something wrong with me for not putting some three-branded blinkers on 😊

I actually got that when I moved off O2 to T-mobile with my n95. I requested the PAC and so went through to the 'number porting' or 'last line salesmen' team but I just said T-mobile were offering me the N95 with unlimited data for x and the guy just said, "ah yeah, we don't have the N95 yet and the only unlimited data we do is blackberry contracts, your PAC code will be with you in a few hours".
Perhaps it was his last week or something 😊

Doesn't the word "retention" just translate to, "make it as difficult as possible for the customer to leave"??
