SD Card Problem...

Hello there 😊

After reading on this forum regarding people being able to use 4gb memory cards in their N73, I decided to purchase one myself.

The link to the item I purchased is here:

hxxp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270181101470&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=017

I believe someone else on this forum bought from fastmemoryman and his works, unfortunately, mine does not. My FW is v4.0735.3.0.2 and when the MC is inserted, the phone just says it is corrupt 😡

The Ebay listing does say it would be compatible with any device which can take 1gb and I currently have a 2gb card which works fine, so am I missing something simple?

Thanks for any replies :icon14:

Not sure how the N73 can actually work properly with a 4gig card - I think virtually everyone has experienced problems with them.

The N73 doesn't support the FAT32 system thats used on 4gig cards, it only supports FAT16, so it can't go over 2gig of storage.

It would only require a relatively minor firmware update on the N73 to allow it to support these larger capacities.

Have to admit that I'm a bit wound up by sellers advertising 4gig SD cards, as ultimately they just don't work. The majority are scams.
