E-mail notification on standby screen

I recently saw a screenshot from an S60 3rd Edition Nokia phone (not sure which model - might've been an E61i), where the standby screen showed how many unread e-mails (and/or texts?) there are in the Inbox.

I haven't found out how to enable this feature on my N95 - is it possible?

Many thanks 😊

this is only available in Eseries devices.

Naughty Nokia. theys hiold make the stanby screen somehwat customisable like add a news ticker etc.

There is only an @ icon (on the right under the battery icon) when there are unread emails.

Thanks for filling me in on this one - knew I should've got an E61i 😉

Get ProfiMail, set it to poll your server and it sticks a nice blue envelope, with the number of mails, on your screen at the top right corner when there are new emails. Very handy. Also plays a nice alert.
