Damn!
I need to get hold of my IMEI number out of my phone, which ive never had a problem with before, but now ive pressed *#06# and nothing happens. AGGH
When i press another * after this, all that happens is the "Messaging/Contacts" softkeys i have disappear, and then reappear when i try to enter the code again
Can anyone help me please, im a bit worried why this is happening!
Isnt it also on the label under the battery?
And its also on the box it comes in, if you still have that.
bit of a given, but have you turned the phone off and removed the battery and then let it rest for 30 seconds or so??
I tried under the battery last night, i should have the box, but knowing me and boxes that could be anywhere lol
Yeah i took the battery out too - its just well confusing, ive never seen a problem like this before lol!
Do you think that doing a fresh firmware install will correct it? Im on v12 already but maybe re-installing it might help me?
can you do any other *# commands??
Are you running SkyeQuiKey? I had the same problem when running this program but stopping the program fixed the problem. I haven't been able to replicate the fault since!

Tbh i havent tried mate. Is there a list of others i can try?

Nope not using this - i cant think of anything that might be running in the background automatically that might do this anyways, i know its not a program ive started if it is, as ive turned the phone off a couple of times .... :con?
Try *#0000# (should tell you your OS and firmware revision)
I've just tried that too, and a couple of others i found on an older post. I've even tried changing my theme just incase it was that.
Agghhh this is worrying now lol. 😞
If my IMEI number wasn't under my battery I would be more than a little concerned!

yeah, your IMEI # should be under the battery... have a look... its the long one with /'s in it...
shut off any other programs your running, take out your MMC and see if your still stuck to make sure nothing is confliciting>!??

Did the other *# codes work, or what happened?
I have a nokia sticker in the back with a code that looks like this:
(edited for obv reasons)
485681/01/952945/4
Would that be the IMEI im looking for? I hope so lol.
Yeah andy i tried those codes and they didnt work.......and ive just tried closing all programs, and taking our my memory card and that didnt help either lol.
*fingers crossed the above is the imei* 😊
PROBLEM SOLVED (i think)
It must be something running in the background....because i turned my phone off, turned it back on without my memory card in....and its just worked.
Guys/Gals thankyou very much for all your help on this - very much appreciated 😃

Yes, that is your IMEI.
Strange the codes don't work, I've never heard of that before so I'm going to ask a really stupid question; you are pressing first the bottom left key once, then the bottom right key once, then the bottom middle key once then the 'mno 6' key once, then the bottom right key once?
And *#0000# doesn't give anything either?

it should give you your firmware version etc...
how about your mac address? *#mac_wlan* does that work??

Forgot to ask, do the characters show on the screen as you press each key?
Yeah all characters show - what happened before is i would enter the code, and on the last digit it would "disappear" like it normally would to show you the code, but nothing would happen.
The if i pressed * just once more, it took off my messaging and contacts softkeys at the bottom lol.
Just confirmed by trying again though - it definately still works and i can get my IMEI and Firmware etc 😊 WOOHOOO!
Thanks again!
