Hi.
Anyone know where can we buy a Nokia N95 8gb UK version simfree. I have placed orders with a few online retailers but when there handsets came they were the US version handsets. Any help.
Nokia N95 8GB Simfree UK sPEC
expansys.com/
no, ordered from them as well they are selling the american spec, even though it says uk, but it's not, ive had their imei number checked by Nokia Centre.
I'm thinking of getting one from mphone. What is the difference between the US and UK specs?
you could try nokia direct, though they only have the non-8GB one on their site at the moment... ??
www.play.com - I got the UK one from there for 499.00 incl postage
The differnce between the US and UK version of the habdset are that you are not covered by Nokia UK under the warranty if anything goes wrong, if the phone is a european spec then its's alright as this would be covered under Nokia UK warranty. Mphone sell the US version.
i live in cyprus nearly all mobiles here are UK sourced and sim free.i bought my n95 here in may for 379 they are now 339 sim free.the only problem is there is not much in the way of online shopping here, also would not know whether they would deliver to UK.BTW in my instruction manual it says"nokia worldwide warranty"in the relevant section
sorry just read your post again my mistake 8GB version is 449 sim free
Question to Gavin151, I ordered one from play.com there handset was also a US version, thats why I sent it back, unless they have got a different batch. Did you check the imei number with Nokia, they will be able to tell you if it is the UK version or the US, thats what i did i rang nokia.

Hi there, ah interesting - I just assumed it was UK (from play). To be honest i am personally not bothered if it is US EXCEPT I decided tonight (10 miutes ago) that I was going to try and get it replaced since the wobbly slider has finally beaten my resolve to ignore.
The thing is....on the play.com website I cant select the "return this item" button but I can for toher items.... which worries me that it is a US issue and play.com wont exchange it 😞
Did you have any trouble getting a refund for the US one you got sent?

Are you outside the 7 day Distance Selling grace period?
Sadly the UK SIM FREE Version of the N95 8GB will not be available until Vodafone's exclusive deal expires in Jan 2008.
The USA model handsets being sold by most retailers at the moment are NOT covered by Nokia's 2 Year european Warranty, although most retailers are offering a 12 month warranty with them.
Just got my N95 8gb from mphone. How do you get Nokia to check the imei number? Who do you contact?

I was just outside 7 days but play.com were very good - the guy said a replacement would be sent as soon as they sent parcel force round to fetch the old one... they even offered to pick it up the same day I called on!
As it turns out I am still waiting on Parcelforce showing up though!
