recommend me a card...

Just got my N95 classic on t-mobile. Very nice, gentle upgrade from the N80.

BUT

t-mobile have not included any sort of card in the box [a bit stingy, methinks]. Can anyone recommend a decent card (with a good price:capacity ratio). I'm running the latest firmware V 12.0.013

cheers,

Alan

Sandisk are really the brand to go for. Reliable and reasonably priced. It's just a question of size which is purely down to how big your music/movie collection is and how much you want on the phone

What I love about N95 is that it has a radio! I used to have E61, XDA Exec, MDA Vario, SPV C600 etc. And none of them had a radio! SO in order to listen to any music I had to have MP3's on Memory Card. And the 2GB (No SDHC) was never enough. Now on my 2GB Micro SD I have around 150 favourite MP3s, GB Map for Route66, GB Map for Google Maps, 7 Episodes of Family Guy, last episode of Heroes, and still have loads of space left!!! Thanks to FM Radio!
So for now, I decided I don't really need more than 2GB...
Hopefully thats helpful...

Thanks for the replies, looks like Sandisk is the way to go, and might go for the new 8gb as I use viewranger mapping etc.

Before I start loading things up though - can anyone confirm - is it better to install apps on the phone memory rather than the card? I suppose it makes sense from a portability point of view (i.e. if you swap cards over, you don;t mess up your apps)

That's one.
2. Some of the apps don't work properly installed in Memory Card.
3. N95 has massive memory, more than enough for all needed applications, otherwise it's just wasted.
4. Some say that you will have longer battery life if the running applications won't have to use memory card being installed in phone's memory.

Be careful while buying 8GB memory cards, especially on Ebay, there is many fake ones!!

Thanks Rottie,

Moving on from the N80, I had got so used to loading apps on the memory card because of the stingy built-in memory. It also means I can install apps now while waiting for my card to arrive 😊 (will definitely be avoiding ebay...)
