Ever since i first got my phone from o2, on v12.0.013 fw, ive had tons of apps called local plugins-search etc. heres a more precise count...
Search-localplugin (15 of them!!!)
Search (3 of them)
Search-globalplugin
Search-CISplugin
Do i need these? i cant say ive ever used them unless theyre just stupid names for soemthing i have. has anyone else had them?
I've got around the same amount, don't fancy deleting them as they look important, but have no idea what they are either!
It's just the Nokia Search Application. I never use it, and if you don't know what it is, then there's no point keeping it on the phone 😊
If you delete all the ones labelled "Search" and not the local ones, it should clear them automatically.
yeah, I deleted mine... hasnt made any difference to anything tho... so dunno if its really worth deleting them... may as well just have left them...
You can uninstall them all and try the newest version (4) of Search from Nokia web site. It also has many plugins for localised searches.

I use it quite often, but only for Yellow pages. You can also use it to search the content of the phone eg type in a keyword and it'll find anything with that word in, like text messages, contacts etc.
The Yellow pages haven't been working recently on my phone, keep trying to get round to reinstalling it.

I uninstalled Search from the menu, just highlighted the program and pressed C and it deleted it. Then had a look in App Manager and it had removed all the Search plugins apart from two.
Just tried to download the latest version but the page seems to be down 😞

the one on my 8gb doesnt have yellow pages either. Its V4
If you remove the search apps on v20 does it get rid of the seach link on the standby screen?
Hmm, not sure about that... as before it was a search for yell etc etc whereas now it also searches your phone...

I actually was going to but it seems v20 also hides the searchapps from the app manager cos they are not listed on mine now but they were in previous firmwares.
Another attempt to get rid of it is scuppered!
yeah, just looked myself.... must be now part of the firmware.
