Sports Tracker goes Web 2.0!

Nokia has released another element of their Ovi services strategy, in Sports Tracker Beta. As the name suggests, it integrates logging (and photos) from your own own workouts using the Sports Tracker tool for S60 with data from other users around the world. Ed from the Eseries blog has done a fabulous illustrated write up that explains Sports Tracker Beta better than I can!

This is great, I've been using the older version for a couple of weeks, and was about to play with uploading data to somewhere, to show on a map, and this saves a lot of trouble!

A word of warning, though, all the data I uploaded seems to now be corrupt on the phone (though the uploaded version seems to be OK), so back it up first (guess who didn't). I've reported this to Nokia, no reply yet.

for some reason it gives me "unable to install" on my e61...
i've uninstalled the older version, but nothing changed.

Ah, right, that explains the problem I was seeing, though I'm not sure the new version will install any better on an E61:

Version 1.60/1.62 caused some problems with old data. It is highly recommended not to use v1.60/v1.62 to upload workouts recoded with previous versions (v1.35, v1.49) of NST to the service. New fixed version coming 22-11-2007, sorry for the inconvenience.

damn, I uploaded 75 workouts using the 1.60 😃 I hope the data is ok still..

I can install the newest version (1.63) on my E61, but it won't launch. When I click on the icon, the phone does nothing. Has anyone had any success in running this version on an E61?

v1.63 now installs fine on e61, but when i try to launch it gives error

menu: system error (-1)

whats going on nokia? can we get finally a working version?
