That S60 Contacts app

Strictly speaking this isn't just about the Contacts app, just that the contacts apps is what is causing me problems right now.

<rant>Why, when adding a thumbnail to a contact, would I want to "Download Graphics"? Do they have pictures of my friends there? Damn, thats good service. Or just bad design.

Do I really, for that matter, want every image thumbnailed and displayed in one great big list so I can hunt down the list to find the image I want? Of course not!

Well, to be honest, I would like the big list of thumbnails, because then I would be able to assign the contact a thumbnail, but it won't show the list because it runs out of memory. Apparently. Although as far as I can see, I still have most of my RAM free, the C: drive has a load of space, and theres plenty left on the memory card.

So I copied the picture I want to assign to the C: drive and take the memory card out. Becauase I calculated there wouldn't be an memory problems, and the big list of thumbnails would be much, much shorter. I was right. It was empty. Well, except for the Download Graphics options. Until I moved the picture into the place that the thumbnailer was looking.

Of course, had I had the ability to just select the damn file I wanted straight off, I wouldn't have had to mess about copying files and removing memory cards. And with the new 8Gb card coming, it's only going to get worse.</rant>

And to head of a predicted response, I don't use Windows. So Nokia's PC contacts application is useless to me. I do expect to be able to do things the phone says I can do on the phone, on the phone!
