Hi guys,
I wish to upgrade my phone to version 12 as i wish for the agps.
Vosafone have not released the v12 update and i don't expect them to do so for quite some time.
I wish to upgrade myself using the NSS software by spoofing my product code.
I live in the UK and wish to update, what product code do i need?
Also after upgrading to an unbranded firmware version will i have to manual put in the settings for the internet connectivity for vodafone? i.e. ContractWAP, ContractEMAIL, etc..
Thanks in advance guys
Matt
Please search, there are some very good existing threads with walkthrough guides to doing this as well as a sticky thread with all the known product codes

Flashing with a non branded phone will remove all vodaphone settings and apps that they may install so be warned.

Hi
I did exactly this last night after much research. Mine is a UK Vodafone N95 I changed the product code to Euro1 and then applied the update through the nokia update program. The update worked fine and the phone also downloaded the settings for Internet via GPRS and the MMS settings without me doing anything. It's recomended you don't apply a backup after the update when your debanding as well. I reinstalled all my apps and the phone is working well. Just waiting for V21 now!!
Good luck

I'm on Vodafone UK as well and I get all the internet settings come down automatically as well.
Sie's right about the backup as well, don't do it. Just use PC Suite and Outlook (or other email client) and sync before and after.

Hi
Would it be safe to apply a backup when i next upgarde the firmware now my phone is debranded?
I wouldn't say 'safe' but I have backed up and restored both times I upgraded my firmware and both times went without a hitch. That's not to say you would have the same results though

I used to think it was ok, but when I upgraded from v11 Euro1 to v12 Euro1 I used PC Suite to sync calendar and contacts, but backed up the messages using the backup utility in PC Suite and restored just the messages and then got the same probs with messages as we had before. Eg the time and date stamp on messages showing when it was delivered to the phone and not when sent.
I reformatted the phone, didn't do any restore and it's fine now. It does take awhile to set the default numbers in contacts but I think it's worth doing that way.
Sorry if this is a silly question but what do you mean by default numbers in contacts?
If you have more than one number for a contact, when you highlight a contact and press call it gives you a list of numbers and you choose one. The same when you text.
You can set default numbers for phoning, texting etc so it automatically dials / sends to that number each time. Bit of a time saver really.

You learn something new everyday. I'm off to set my default numbers now.
