Purely self congratulatory, I know but just stuck my new 8Gb Micro SD in my N95-1 and now have absolutely oodles of free space now for even more videos and mp3s. Phone didn't bat an eyelid as I stuffed in the new card after drag 'n dropping all the folders from my old 2Gb onto the new one.

Anyone want a 2GB micro sd?

congrats pal, so far iv had 2gb, 4gb and now 6gb, i also want the 8gb, can u do me a favour and reboot phone with the 8gb in and see how long it takes to boot up? With the 6gb in my n95 takes around 56 seconds to get to the standby screen and wondered if the 8gb was the same, thanx loads

Boot up time to the standby screen was 40 secs, including some time to input a 6 digit pass code.

wot can the standard n95 take a 8gb micro sd card???????

i allways thought it was a 2gb limmit?????

someone please enlighten me 😞

Nokia stated a 2GB limit because, at the time of release, the largest microSD cards were 2GB, and they couldn't guarantee anything higher. However, the slot on the N95 is microSDHC-compatible, and the microSDHC cards which have come out from 4-6GB all work fine.

Can I ask where you got it from and what the service was like?😊

Got it from Carphone Warehouse - walked in, paid the money, walked out with the card. Pretty good service really. A lot better than all those online sites that are showing "Pre Order only". Couldn't find one online for love nor money.

Just went to carphone warehouse today, paid £69.99 and the card works fine.
You even get a MicroSD USB reader (Which is tiny) and has a keyring attatchment, so I can carry the spare card with me.

Now all I need is a few batteries, lol.

You realise you can get them online for 47 right?

Well, yes, if you can actually get your hands on one. I wanted one immediately, not maybe tomorrow or sometime next month. Pay a premium get it in your mits. My philosophy.

i ordered mine online, around 45 and 2 day delivery when paid by paypal (and no I didnt get it from eBay)

So how many hours of DVD content can you fit on one of those?

s.

I know I can get them online for £47, but I'm leaving the country to go to Tenerife in 12 days, to live there.

Couldn't risk it lol, it was worth an extra £20

Also means I have time to set the phone up exactly how I want it (ie mp3's, sat nav etc)

Well, I've currently got 3 hours of Firefly episodes on, and it only occupies 0.5GB so, [Simple Maths Mode: ON] 3 x 2 x 8 = 48, which seems absurdly large. Admittedly, the DVD has been encoded for N95 (320 x 180 @ 351kps and 25fps) and not TV out but, hey, that's what it's for. I've the DVDs for watching on TV
