Im sorry if this has been mentioned previously, but Ive looked around and cant see any other postings..
Does anyone know what the letter `E` is that has started appearing under the signal strength on the N73 screen?
It appeared for the first time a couple of days ago and has been on ever since. It doesnt stop me from making calls or sending texts but Im just curious as to what it means???
It doesnt seem to appear anywhere in the manual that came with the book...?
it means that there is a data connection established... "E" for Edge...
if you are on a non-edge network, you will see "G"...
i'm a 3 customer in australia. and the 'E' means that i'm on roaming, not in the 3G network coverage. which does not stop me from making calls or using the data network. i do not have to pay extra for making calls while roaming, but i've to pay extra for using the data network, as it's being provided by the 'roaming' network(telstra/optus....etc.). whenever i'm in 3's coverage area, a '3G' appears on my phone.
'E' can appear even in network coverage if the receiption is poor inside a building, or u'r phones reception capability has gone down.
better contact u'r operator and learn about the charges.
