ok here's my problem, my fon was o2 and under the wee mast ther were 2 wee lines that u could tell wen the signal was in use, which was handy! i debranded the fon and now the lines are gone! was this just an o2 thing or is ther a setting somewhere to ebable them? or am i just not aking sense lol
two wee lines under the signal mast??
some sort of theme .. the lines showing signal strength? or the type of connection .. does your current setup show 3G or something in a similar location?
The lines your talking about sound like the active gprs connection notification. Did they look like two half arrows, one left one right?
As seki said if you're in a 3g area you will see 3g in its place. If not a small antenna looking icon.
There is an option on the phone where you can have data connection where available. This would mean you would see the two lines all the time, when there is signal. So that might have been set on the original firmware. But i'm not sure why this would be set on o2 firmware.
ahha i got it thanks it was under packet data! seting it to wen avalible got the wee lines bak thanx!!!!

Though enabling it to stay connected at all times wastes battery life especially in 3G areas.

Agreed. Its only needed for a constant connection, if you open a web application it still promts for a connection to use.
na dont thinkso... havent noticed a differance anyway!.. it just showes you wen the phone is actually using the signal which most of the time it isnt, just good for knowing a few seconds in advance if ur gona get a txt or foncall
The phone wouldn't normally make a packet data connection due to incoming calls or texts? (Although it would for MMSes.)
