2Gb mem card and E61 compatability issues?

I've had my E61 for most of this year now but I brought my memory cards over from my old E70. I don't recall having any issues with these caeds on the E70 but here's whats been happening with my E61...
I find that word and excel document stored on the card will mysteriously disappear, never to be seen again. Not with Windows Explorer or any other means. Its happened to pictures too. Funnily enough music files, maps for gps and saved .sis files all seem to remain on the card. When I look at the volume of the card it has not changed even though loads of data is gone.
Can anyone tell me if 2gig mem cards are supported on E61? Its starting to drive me nuts!

Hello!

I used to have a Nokia E61 myself with a SanDisk 2GB memory and never ever had problems. Although you clearly state that you had never had any problems with the card in your E70, the problems you describe are typical of fake memory cards. I don't know enough to elaborate on the issue but in layman's terms, the 2GB capacity is "fake" and although you can add the filenames to the TOC (I think that's the Table of Contents where all the files on a medium are registered) the actual file data are NOT saved on the memory.

Try with a brand new and GENUINE memory and see what happens...

Perhaps you should establish are the word & excel files actually on the memory card. Use a card reader or install Y-Browser to check it out.
