N82 on eBay

Id trust it.

Having looked at the history, hes sold many high priced phones, including some N95 8GB for over £500, quite a few times. All to members that have normal feedback profiles (i.e. havent been setup or hijacked just to leave him credible feedback).

Only problem I can foresee is that they are not from the UK and you get stiffed for VAT if you get it to the UK.

International please allow 3 - 5 days for your item delivery.

Meaning its most likely an asian model, which doesnt usually have any downsides. However, as there is no mention of import tax, Id contact the seller and ask about it.

On an item of that value, its going to be quite a lot and customs DO get these things. Unless your ok about paying an extra £30-£50 odd then Id recommend either not going for it or getting and keeping an email from the seller promising to refund you any fees if charged.

I did, and got hit by VAT import. The seller paid, although to be fair he paid up front as soon as I sent a copy of the VAT bill.

I also think the seller is safe, but it coming from overseas would put me off.

The N82 does look a very good phone and I'll probably buy one, but I think I'll until they come out in the UK, can't be too long, can it?

Your having a laugh, the 6110 took blooming ages.
:frown:

And I may have made a mistake, that line I quoted might have meant for anyone outside the UK, as he delivers outside the UK.

Fair enough...

It does say the item is in London, I wonder where it's from if it's not a UK model?

I guess these days the hardware is same for all over Europe, maybe the world, just different product codes.

Just asked the following question, I'll let you know he says...

Can you tell me what region the phones are from and if they are full final production phones, ie not prototypes etc?

O2 have the phone listed on their website for release in December07. I called them for something that may be a little more accurate and the guy said the N81 was already out. He didnt know what an N82 was!!

Yup, sounds about right 🙄

Ok, the first answer I got was...

eBay-digitalshak wrote:they are final production

Then got him the clarify the region and got this...

eBay-digitalshak wrote:Asian spec, european spec is not out as yet, i think early next year and US spec isnt out either.
It has exactly the same specifications between them unlike some other models.

Hmmm, youve had an answer?

Havent had an answer to mine yet, in which I asked him about the shipping. I also said that more people will see his answer, as there is a discussion on AAS. I figure its only fair to tell him I'll be posting it. At the same time, it will be obvious to all about any additional charges if they come through.

Maybe I should have told him I was gonna post his answer first. But if he's prepared to tell one person, then many shouldn't matter.

I'm not trying to catch him out, just joining in the discussion. He seems legit to me and I would probably buy one from him if they were European. Although I would mind seeing one in the flesh first.

Ive been wondering about that.

Would there be a market for an online store that keeps a stock of new devices (as in 'new' on the market) that trials them out?

Basically the customer pays out the value of the item, and they can try it out. If they dont like it, they return it and get the money back, minus a small fee of course. Perhaps time dependant. They can try anything they like out on it, as it could be reflashed/reformatted/reset back.

If they like it, they can keep it.

Anyways, moving on from my never to come to fruitation ideas, I agree that anything said shouldnt make any difference if hes honest. Might even be good for business I suppose, talk about advertising.

However, I still havent had a reply, while you have. Until then, you should assume you could very well get charged taxes on it entering your country.

It does say on his listing and I quote

"WE HAVE THESE PHONES IN STOCK NOW!!

Arrangement can be made for pick up from London."

So phones are already in the uk

Ah, hes got lots of questions added now. I wonder how many are from AAS readers 😊

It does look like you can pick it up, so I would assume that theres no chance of import tax.

Thats not a bad price actually.
