I have the nokia E65 and i was wondering if you could edit the T9 dictionary in it.

I have added a few words that were mistakes and want to delete them as they always come up and i dont need then any more.

thanks in advance.

It is not possible to edit the words in theT9 dictionary. One can only add new words to it. If you must remove any word, the only way is to reformat your phone. That way the T9 will be as it was when you bought the phone.

I too wish I could change the words in my T9.

As a related issue, I have begun to notice that I can NOT add new words to my T9 dictionary no matter what. Not sure if it was something that changed w/the most recent firmware update or not but I've noticed this issue quite some time ago. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this or what is the cause but it's fairly annoying.

i found a way:

re-add the words you want from that key combination and they will come up first in the list. (and the incorrect words will filter to the end of the list where they will be replaced once your t9 reaches limit of new words)

I don't think that was the way I bought it. I seem to think it used to replace them as I entered new ones as were my previous Nokia phones. In other words, if the capacity were 10 (it's not but for this discussion we'll say it is) and you have 10 words in it already and enter a new one it will replace the oldest one, or #1 in this case. Then, when you enter another new word the oldest one would be #2 and so on. I was pretty sure this was how it worked as it never really seemed to 'run out' of room before and it seemed to save them every time. What I did notice is that words I had already entered in the past were no longer in there. It seems that my T9 changed as of my last update and made it so that it will no longer accept any new words. Now, I have no way of proving this theory but I just assumed that's how it worked because I send/receive 3k+ SMS messages per month so I get plenty of use out of the text features incl T9.

That's the way I thought it used to work but now it doesn't seem to accept any new words at all. Am I misreading what you're saying??

well what i do is go to add a new word, and add the word that i want to come up first, works fine for me
