Hi ive just recently debranded my nokia n95 8gb to the new firmware 11.0.026 Euro 1 , and im having no problems except when im using wireless connection and then i exit the web my phone is still showing as im connected when im not, if you no what im on about in the top right hand corner of the phone i cant get rid of the Wireless icon 4 little squares...ive even tried rebooting the phone and with no luck its still there !!

Has anybody ele got this problem and how did you get rid of that icon showing connected wireless ?

Thanks and hope to hear soon from Brian

For N95-8G you should not find a lot of examples around, is too soon. Why you dont repeat the upgrade process? Or you cant do that?

Hi and many thanks, think i will wait to do another fresh install, as i dont think it will let me do again, also spent 2 hours putting stuff on phone last nite !! lol, this phones great aint it, and im just reading about the new firmware out today for the n95, shame it wernt for ours again,

Guess i will just have to put up with that wireles icon for now unless anybody ele replys with the fix for it, do you have the n95 8gb? and have you done the firmware upgrade?

The little four-square icon is for WiFi active. I have an N95-1, but on my phone the Active Standby screen also shows the network it's connected to. If you move to that item on the standby screen and press Select (middle button), you get the options 'Disconnect WLAN' and 'Switch WLAN scan off'. The first disconnects the WiFi connection and the icon goes away, but it will keep looking for new networks, so it's best to switch the scan off if you're not using WiFi for a while.

Hi and thankyou, ive just tried that, and firtly i tried switch wlan scan off and the icon still appears under the battery meter !! also i tried disconnect wlan and it then dissapears but then refreshes its self and finds my wlan again !!

Must be another setting within the phone to get rid of it !! lol, not to worried a can live with it, but im sure its not supposed to be there all the time..

Thankyou for your help and i will await any more help..

Easy way is got to tools > settings > connections > wireless Lan & change Show Wireless Lan availability to never.

Icon disappears. If you want wireless lan then change it to available. voila.
