unlocked my N80 Free

5 replies · 5,344 views · Started 27 November 2007

Hi all,

i just wanted to say that today i unlocked my N80 for free, i went to my vodafone store and asked if they could unlock my phone, i did hear here that it might cost me 20.

but vodafone said if the phone was a year or more older, it would be free.

in the store they didnt have my unlock code on their computer, so they sent for it from nokia, and in 48hrs i got an email. put in the code WITH sim still in, the phone came up with, restriction off sim, and then reset it self.

i have tried a few sim cards and they all work fine.

so i though i let everyone know, that if your phone is more than a year old, its free to unlock it, well it is on vodafone and should be on others as well.

and most N80's are over a year old

happy unlocking........:icon14:

😊

Hi 6six6,

You're right. Unlocking codes for Vodafone handsets more than 12 months old are provided free of charge. If it's less than 12 months old then it's just £19.99. The codes are normally available on our system within 72 hours of your request. You do need to have an active Vodafone account for us to provide the codes either free of charge or for £19.99.

milkycarton, you'll find that every handset has its own individual unlocking code, so the one 6six6 has won't work with your phone (and could actually cause permanent damage to it.) To request your own network unlocking code, first of all you'll need your IMEI from your phone (just type *#06# on the keypad to find this.)

Next, call us on 191 free of charge from your phone, or if you'd prefer to contact us via email please feel free to do so by filling in the Vodafone Online Contact Form. Please ensure you fill in all of the details requested on the form, as this will help speed up the process.

Hope this helps,
