Hi all,

I completely forgot how i backup my stuff. From wat i remember from the last update to 12.1 firmware.. i had to do something specific for restoring my memory card files in my n95 am i right? Like if i installed programs and such in my memory card i have to do something to restore it into my new firmware. If im right or wrong please can someone give me some heads up.. thanks all!!

you back up the phones memory on your memory card by going to tools/memory card/back up phone memory. i would say however if you are updating your firmware i see no point in putting the new firmware on to then restore a back up from a previous firmware. i would sync. your contacts and then just select the apps you want and re install them. obviously back up your pics and videos to keep them though, ie keep them on your memory card

More than being no point a backup/restore across an update can cause stability problems so start afresh.
Copy all your important data from the mem card to you PC and then remove from the phone.
Perform the update and then reinstall all you apps but only to the phone.
Format your card and reinsert in the phone.
Any files needed by the apps will be found.
And you will have a clean running and stable phone.

Do what I said, step by step.
You will have to reinstall all your apps.
Copy over your data folders (images, mp3s, vids etc) but not your apps folders, from your mem card to PC.

Any apps installed on your mem card has associations with the installed firmware of a previous install. You will have to reinstall to re-establish any association. Easier (only possible) to install all your apps again. The previous installation is more than likely (I would say totally) useless.
