N95 on Three UK

Hi Guys,

Should be receiving my new N95 from Three tomorrow (upgrading from N80). Do we know if they're offering v.20 yet? I'm guessing not, as the N80 firmwares used to take ages to become available.

If they're not, then I think I'm going to take the debranding/upgrading route - but I've noticed that Three hide their network settings, and I'm worried that debranding will leave me with an unusable handset without the right settings.

I've looked on the Nokia site, and they don't list Three on their network settings SMS service, and I've heard that Three isn't listed on the Settings Wizard application either.

Anyone debranded on 3 successfully?

Hi, I successfully debranded my N80 on three. Worked a treat - got rid of all the 'planet 3' gubbins, but picked up all the network settings fine. I've upgraded to a N95 as well, but on t-mobile - but debranded that as well as the v20 firmware will take alot longer to come to contract handsets.

Sweet, thanks for that.

Did you just use Nemesis and PC Suite? Anything special I should watch out for?

Yeah, Nemesis does the job nicely. Changing the product code back to what it was after the firmware upgrade is a tip I've heard elsewhere (current product code should be underneath the battery)

My tip is when you click ok to install the new firmware, go away and make a brew, and come back 10 minutes later. A watched pot never boils, and you wont be tempted to accidently disconnect the phone, crash computer etc whilst the update is going, potentially bricking your phone.😮

I'm sure 9 out of 10 of the 'Update bricked my phone' posts are because people fiddled with it before it was ready. 🙄
